#155 What a difference 8 days make

Eight days after that first rose, the bush looked like it had exploded with red blossoms. Then, the rain storms have hit daily and they are drooping. This morning, the blossoms are just about touching the ground, they've been hammered so hard.

#154 Some calm in the storm

We are still experiencing thunder and lightning storms. As the sun went down, this double rainbow made an uninterrupted arch across sky; something we don't usually see with all the trees, mountains and clouds.
The rainbow ended right on top of Ginger Roger's old ranch, with the red-orange roofs. (Most of you youngsters won't even know who she was so I'll leave you to Google her.)

#153 Up Up and Away........

Away go the gas prices AGAIN. In one day, it jumped 3 cents....last week, it jumped 14 cents over the weekend. Hard to keep track of now days.
Top photo is another shot of "main street" Shady Cove.

#152 The Field of Weeds

Ahhhh, the field of weeds. I love heading for work in the morning when the sun is casting its shadows across the world. Our house sits on a hill overlooking the Rogue Valley and we can look down and catch glimpses of our field through the trees. This is our road that cuts our property in half and which the upper neighbors use for ingress/egress.
We are so fortunate and thankful to have all that we do.

#151 1946....a good year

Our friend, Rick, was born in 1946....and so were Jack, Pat, Jim, Carmen, Janice, me and tons of other friends of ours. Rick was sans wife on his birthday so we had a Birthday BBQ for him. It was 94° with a sky filled with thunder clouds.
Then the rain started and the sky opened up. Luckily, the cookin' had just finished when the rain began. I teased Rick that if the power went out, we'd just light all 63 birthday candles. Actually, I just had one in his "European mousse" dessert.
Temps dropped to 76° in a matter of minutes. Crazy.

#150 My dog, Hook

I know, I know. Hook isn't a dog. But sometimes, he gets mixed up and follows me just like a dog and wags his tail like a puppy. On this particular day, he followed me all the way down to the horses and along the way, he had to investigate what Jack was doing in the woods.
(Danette, have I told you lately how much I love this cat?)
