Day #200 - Seasons of a Road

It's amazing how even our driveway takes on seasons. Although our temperatures are in the 100's, this is the beginning of the falling leaves from those beautiful peeling madrones.

We found another tree that peels in Portland. No idea what it was, but it had peeled back layer after layer after layer. In places it was frothy like lace, but it was bark coming away inpaper thin layers. If I ever discover the name I'll let you know. The trunk that was bared was pale white and smooth. Very interesting.

Love your Madronas! Meg

Oh man...I love this drive. Make sure you post pics of it each season....that would be really cool! AShley has a special tree down near the pond that she photographs each season.
